Oh, Bevin!

Goddamnit. There is like a MAJOR fuckup on the Bevin tank. I have no idea how or why, and yes, it's my fault, I sent them the wrong directions on the lace pattern.  (you all know I've got like 2 and a half functioning brain cells left by now, RIGHT??!!)

So the lace pattern is THIS, and THIS I SWEAR IS THE TRUE CORRECTION!!!!

1)(RS) Knit
2) purl
3)(RS) PURL2tog (3x) yo KNIT 1 (5x) PURL2tog 3x*
4) purl

I feel horrible and very blonde, but maybe that's the real Bevin rubbing off on the pattern.. Bevin is an actual blonde, I am just blonde by association.. I shame brunettes abound... There must have been some genetic mutation/mistake.

So, as far as I know, Cara (the poor girl) is the ONLY person who has attempted to knit it or has brought it to my attention and my apologies to her!~

Wordpress??

Okay, who out there, my dear, dear readers knows ANYTHING about wordpress? I'm giving Aria a major headache and I can't seem to find any simple how to's...

Here is what i need..

To make a banner, change the background colors, add navigation links to the upper toolbar thingy, somehow get a paypal shopping cart on the patterns for sale page, if possible get an rss feed for the links, and I also need how to figure out how to immediately auto-send patterns to the buyer..

HELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP! Anyone who helps will get a lifetime supply of my patterns, any or all of them! It's a gift that keeps on giving! Just leave a comment or email me at knittingforboozehags AT gmail DOT com! And if you would like something else other than patterns, I'll work it out with you!

Thank you babies!

PS, I think I may still keep my blogspirit account!

Okay dokey! Thank you all so much for all of the suggestions, advice, answers and whatnots!! ISELA, DIANE, LUCIA, SYLVIE, and ANDREA!!

Andrea has stepped up to the plate and is doing all of the wordpress stuff! This is PERFECT because her site is pretty similar to what I had in mind! So I am just completely ecstatic, elated and downright pysched about that!! Honestly, if it weren't for her, there may have been no new site. I didn't realize at all how very difficult it would be, or how completely inept I am at this shit. My main goal is to just get everything up and running so I can concentrate on other projects, assuming I won't end up in a cold sweat wearing a straightjacket mumbling incoherently things like 'css, rss, theme, template, theme, and I am about to get kicked off of here, so I am going to save and post it up

Okay, I'm back. This "your session is about to expire" stuff is for the birds. So anyways, Andrea rules and i am going to have to do some VERY NICE things for my momma!

And thanks to Sylvie and Isela, who both emailed me with the "payloadz" info, which I am going to do! It works in conjunction with pay pal and is what automatically sends the pattern after payment.

Seriously, girls... I feel so very very lucky to have such a great network of support! I honestly would be utterly lost without all of you helping me out! The biggest thing that sucks is that I can't rally you all together and buy you all drinks!

As for my "other' projects.. I have in the brainstorm department ... a GREAT idea. I can't divulge too much as nothing is solid yet, but let me just say that it will involve a handful of some VERY talented folks. And of course, I'll be knitting my rear end off with new stuff for free and for sale.. Up untill Andrea stepped up, I was feeling extremely overwhelmed! And I do need to do alot of research and homework, so it'll be a while before this all comes to fruition, but I will keep you posted!

Okay, I'm off to pop a vicodin, drink a glass of wine, find my pocket protector and glasses and get all internerdy!

Tagged by Joy and links

Erika from knitrider

Jen from Craft Lily

And Pam has tagged me! (I think I did one very similar if not the same, but whatever, I know you all are just DYING to know!)

5 CDs in your Player:
1. Coldplay, 2nd album, stolen from Bevin. Even my husband digs it. Gwenyth Paltrow you lucky dog, what a sweet man you got!

2. Hawkwind, I can't remember which one of the top of my head.

3. Unida, the first one. I am terrible with titles, have you noticed? I used to know everything down to the liner notes, old age has mellowed out my music nazi-ism.

4. Kyuss- sky valley. If I had some pot, I'd probably smoke it and listen to this, but it's a soothing album and very summery.

5. Warhorse, Jerry gave us the 1st warhorse cd where this chick Krista (not his wife, Krista) is singing. I like Jerry singing better.

5 Movies You've watched Recently:
Easy peasy, all I do is knit and watch movies..

1. The Machinist

2. The curse

3. A terrible christan slater/stephen dorff/tara reid one

4. american pie 2, regretfully.

5. Sigh, Garfield (yes, as in the cat) about 6 times in a row yesterday.

5 Nice Things That Happened To You Lately

1. Well, my daughter peed on me this morning (that's a sarcastic nice)

2. I got to spend time with Bevin the other day

3. Aria is helping me with the new site (read, pretty much doing EVERYTHING, with me just sending pics and ideas and can we do this and thats)

4. My husband does nice things for me everyday, whether it's a bottle of wine or bringing me home my favorite lasagna *no connection to the garfield movie)

5. My daughter hugged me this morning, said "give me a kiss" and then gave me nosies.. Usually this takes way too much time out of her busy schedule and it's always me asking for them!

5 MP3s on your playlist

Umm, this is easy. I don't do i-pods or mp3's or anything that might put me in modern times. I can't even figure out how to answer a cell phone!

Who shall I pass this onto?

1. Sylvie

2. Aria

3. Jacey

4. Jennifer

5. Erika

medium_jess_erase.3.jpg

Whose got the hippest MOM ever???? Why it has to be the lovely Miss Erika from Knitrider! She made her mom this!!!!

medium_erika_s_mom.jpg

And,  Jennifer from Craftlily made HER BABY a LELAH!!!! Too cute! I now have to make Helena one immediately! Not to mention that this is another GREAT STASH REDUCER, as you wouldn't need much yarn!

Look at how cute!

medium_baby_lelah.jpg
Okay, with the new blogspirit thing they added, for some reason, you can't add links after you save, and you only have a short amount of time in which to write and save, this sucks because I had to save and now am unable to add the links! I'm going to write a new post with the links so you can go and see them! Sheesh! Computer technology just may be the most frustrtating thing in the world to me and I am sure has shaved off a good 10 years of my life due to the stress factor. The term 'does not compute' is my mantra lately!

New Lelah in the gallery!

So Tara sent  me this pic this afternoon!!! Check out her "mystery yarn" Lelah! I have ALOT of mystery yarn. Most of it acquired from my mother, from like the 70's and 80's!! So we'll NEVER know what it is! Anyways clicky here!!

And for you computer savvy folks.... HOW DO YOU MAKE BUTTONS?? (for the blog) I think I need one to go with the upcoming website!

Meme's

Okay, from Ros...

5 things i miss from childhood

If you want to participate the chain-letter part works like this: remove the blog at #1 from the following list and bump every one up one place; add your blog’s name in the #5 spot; just check to make sure the links are still attached if you copy n’ paste.

1) The Farmette Report
2) Nepenthe’s Misadventures
3) dynamiteknits
4) purly brites

5) knitting for boozehags

1) My Nana! The most inspirational and beloved woman in my entire life. I STILL can't think about her without an overwhelming heartbreaking SADNESS to befall on me. I miss her more than ANYTHING else in my entire life, EVER. Words can not describe the feelings she conjurs or the memories, or the times we shared. God, I really miss her. And yes, I am tearing up thinking of it, so NEXT ONE...

2) Playing with my cousing Kevin. We used to ride go-karts, play with snapping turtles, swim, terrorize our siblings, build forts, play star wars.. I miss all of the animals we used to see. Frogs, toads, snakes.. just exploring in the woods..

3) Reading. Yes, I used to read CONSTANTLY and ALL NIGHT, too! I also miss how my imagination would make reading like an actual movie in my head! Like Ros, I too would use the night light! I was really into fantasy and teen-age thriller/horror.

4) Just feeling happy and free, spending so much time outdoors. Days seemed to last for years! Now, everything is all sped up and there are so many stresses!

5) I used to love fashion plates and all of those "make your own makeup" kits. Christmases were always a blast too! I did sneak peeks and became a master of re-taping when my mom caught on. She thought wrapping them would keep me from finding out, HA!

And now for Sarah's... to be continued later BUT I know someone else tagged me and I can't  rememberwhat it was!

id·i·o·syn·cra·sy
Pronunciation Key
n. pl. id·i·o·syn·cra·sies
A structural or behavioral characteristic peculiar to an individual or group.

1) The toilet paper has to be UNDER, not OVER!! And of course the seat down, which my husband USUALLY respects, but when he doesn't it's always in the dark of the night and then I get ANGRY! GRRRR!

2) I have very weird aversions to food and the things you eat them on/with.. Dishes can NOT have any baked on anything and it has to be clean. And if I suspect the cook is not clean, I will not eat it. I refuse to eat deli salads because of the mayo and how it gets a clear layer on top that the flies like to shit on. EWWWW. Gristle, fat, bones in fish... anything WEIRD will make me gag.

3) Speaking of which... OJ.. NO pulp it makes me gag! Turtlenecks, NO! Makes me gag! Tomatoes? EWWW! The slimy guts and all too often mealy texture makes me retch and gag!

I'll do the other 2 in a minute

Bling A ramma rambling

So, my little pets.. I have so much I should write about but even more to do, so just a quick little update!

OH YES, I DID FORGET! I got tagged like 3 times for meme's!!!! I WILL fill them out later tonight! PROMISE!

Ahhhh, the Amaryllis.. It's "supposed" to bloom during CHRISTMAS TIME. But NOT MY beauty, Monte Blanc.. You gorgeous thing you, it's okay, Summer is so much nicer. She's on her own time schedule.

medium_amaryllis.jpg

My bestest pal Aria is hooking this chick up with a real honest to god website!! And she's going to hold my hand the entire way so it might even look as if I know what I am doing! (Don't be fooled, I DON'T! Any resemblence to a 'real' webpage is all Aria). You might accidentally type in www.knittingforboozehags.com and WHOA! You will get directed here.... for the time being. So you can all update your links with that address, and then one day in the near future, you will get a nice surprise and see my new site!! I am going to start kicking some serious ass and put up patterns for sale. Of course, there will still be free ones too! See, now that I have got my software (check is in the mail, joy!!) I am able to produce actual sizes! SIZING, people.. it's not my forte and has been the bane of my existence.. well, ONE of the many banes...   You all well know that math and I are mortal enemies! NOW, with all of that taken care of, I am FREE to go wild and crazy!

I have 4 projects (only one is mine and will be put in the free pats soon) that I need to finish first, oh and I must refresh my stash, but then IT'S ON!!!

Speaking of the projects.... 1) A lovey mohair scarf for you all soon..

medium_scarf.3.jpg

2) An abandoned ufo.. debbie bliss baby dress for the Helena.. I finished the body, made one sleeve.. decided I don't want sleeves, so will crochet around edges! Also, the reason I pulled it out of hiding is mainly due to Crumpets. I am going to skip the edging called for in the pattern and 'practice' the crumpets edging on it.

medium_dress.jpg                                         medium_band.jpg

Which brings me to 3) Crumpets.. After casting on and ripping out numerous times, decided that yep, I am NOT into cables. It's like learning to crochet. It just fels so awkward and I couldn't get my tension right.. I felt like I was massacre-ing the thing, so switched to butterfly stich. I am near done. Now I am mad that I didn't stick with the cables.. So now I just HAVE to make another one, or 2. I think I might whip 2 up for my friend Sheila's daughters!!! This pattern is everything I expected and the cottonease is making for some perfecto knitting! I am so far, very very proud of the progress!

And 4) another bane of my existence, which I can't blurb about and at this rate may never finish. I am sooo sick of it and let me tell you, frogging in this particular type of yarn is more than a nightmare. And I have to frog 2 rounds.. again!!!! I have about 6 more rounds to completion, and yet.... the frogging aspect is just too terrifying to think on, so it sits on the back burner this week.

I have so much more to yak incessently about, but alas, I have to get off this crazy thing, get dressed, gather up packages to mail out, hit the lys for my sp, go for an hour walk in the sticky hot humid air out there and then burn some rubber on Crumpets. Not to mention reading blogs, returning emails and cleaning the house, doing laundry, taking helena for a swim, buying lawn chairs and some form of alcohol for upcoming bbq this weekend, calling bevin, taking a shower (SUSANNAH, the soap has inspired me to do it more often due to the intoxicating aroma!!! Again, THANK YOU!!) Oh and THIS JUST IN.... Change a #2 filled diaper.. YEY!

HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN MUCHA'S JEWELRY????! BEHOLD!
