Oh, Bevin!
Goddamnit. There is like a MAJOR fuckup on the Bevin tank. I have no idea how or why, and yes, it's my fault, I sent them the wrong directions on the lace pattern. (you all know I've got like 2 and a half functioning brain cells left by now, RIGHT??!!)
So the lace pattern is THIS, and THIS I SWEAR IS THE TRUE CORRECTION!!!!
1)(RS) Knit
2) purl
3)(RS) PURL2tog (3x) yo KNIT 1 (5x) PURL2tog 3x*
4) purl
I feel horrible and very blonde, but maybe that's the real Bevin rubbing off on the pattern.. Bevin is an actual blonde, I am just blonde by association.. I shame brunettes abound... There must have been some genetic mutation/mistake.
So, as far as I know, Cara (the poor girl) is the ONLY person who has attempted to knit it or has brought it to my attention and my apologies to her!~

Your new site looks awesome - so jealous! I'm really liking your patters - working on a Lelah right now, and can't wait to finish! Keep up the good work.

I'm finding it hard to gather up the sympathy required for somebody who knew damn well that naming anything bevin would surely be a fatal fatal mistake....duh

Hello,
I knitted up your Bevin and didn't think there were any problems in the lace pattern (since I thought it turned out pretty cute.) The only problems I had were that the straps were too long, but that's probably due to my not checking gauge.
Anyway, just wanted to thank you for your beautiful patterns and let you know that perhaps there is a legion of us non-photo-posting-boozehag-knitters out there...

Bevin confusion -- shouldn't there be one more YO before the second set of P2 tog? That would follow the math of the original (incorrect) instructions and the math of the matched YO's/Tog's. I think. I am about to try it my way and we'll see what happens.
Actually, Christine, I started on Bevin ages ago, beginning with the back so I would still have the fun part to look forward to. Something looked funny about the F&F pattern instructions and I emailed Spun to ask about it (appending a welcome to RI and hopes that you survived the DMV). I guess you didn't get it, which is for the best since my idea of what was wrong was, well, wrong. Now I have finished the back, and on starting the front, the question is right there. I am just SO grateful I stumbled across your correction at all, it was pure chance.
Shouldn't the correction be posted on Spun??
FYI, being the sort that can't let well enough alone, I am adding a little border around the bottom of two sets of the "Little Shell" pattern from About.com's stitch library. It sort of echoes the idea of F&F. I am using Classic Elite's Premiere, a delicious cotton/tencel blend, also in celadon. Finally, having finished the back, I don't like the joggy neck shaping so I am going to go back and do short rows.
Anyway -- thank you for a perfectly lovely pattern.
