Lots to report!

I AM going to take photo's as soon as the weather clears up! I hate me camera (still) and can't tweak the stupid wash out too bright stupid flash thingamajig! GRRRRRRRRR!
Also, I cast on for the OSW and am almost done! I've got knitting add like crazy!

One) My secret pal RULES. Not only is she really nice but she also very cool! She sent me THIS!! So far I have gotten 2 emails. I love it! It's like reading a mystery novel, but they via emails. I really miss being able to read (and absorb!) novels, so this is perfect! Thank you Susannah!! And yes, I know her name. But I've already googled her to no avail. And I am NOT going thru 600 plus blogs to find her out either! (although someone I know, hmmmmm, lily!) has been searching for hers!
Oh, and the little bug you see to the top left is a secret pal clue for a certain somebody's secret pal. I'm sorry, but I can't say who, it'll give it away! But said secret pal will be directed to my blog for her clue, so there it is! Have fun!

medium_872s7708.jpg

I got some gorgeous photo's from Mary-Margaret today! Of her WEDDING! She looks soo lovely! Absolutely gorgeous! You can check out her blog for some honeymoon pics that she's just put up too! Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! And I do expect a full honeymoon report later, lady! But it looks like you had a terrific time! I'm so happy for you!
Oh, and I finished Orangina. I also finished the art fibers dress, which can I just say so myself.... CAME OUT BEEEEEYOUTEEFUL! And now that I've dropped some pounds, I may just grow the balls to wear it in public!
I am going to be putting up pictures later on. But I have a bunch left to do today, so that'll have to come later.
My pal Aria has offered me a blog on her server and said she can help out with the layout and design! WHEEEEEEEE! So I may be doing a move sooner than I thought!
Right now I am stuck on the frogging for the spun piece. But I am so, so, so close to it's completion. And I did try the whole "stick it in the freezer so the yarn doesn't stick" thing, and I can tell you all from (now) personal experience that the freezer did not make a difference either way. So it's going very slowly and tediously. I sit with crochet needle in hand for like an hour and a half each round. I have about 2-3 more rounds to go and then I will re-knit the finishing piece and I'll be happy!
And I guess that Pam and I are finally going to get to hang out! We're going to see my pal Donna at the roller derby on saturday! It should be alot of fun!

I am NOT html friendly!

So Kaitlyn has been fooling around with her html on her blog. She sent me an image that Joy had made for me (well, she made ALL of us one on cards for the msw festival) and instructions, links to more instructions... So I figured I'd try it out! Seems that my template (#5!) has issues with this and to make a terribly long story short, I ended up erasing my banner, then after lots of frustrations ended up with the image on there, but tiny and obstructing the page! So, it's not that I am giving up, but I think that when I actually get my own site up (don't get excited, it won't be for a looooooooooong while!) I'll try my hand at it again..
But I have to say that looking at Kaitlyn's new page, I'm getting an itch! Maybe they have "html for retarded dummies" out.
*For the record, if any fellow blogspiriter's manage to do the same thing and got in way too deep, to the point where they can't get out and your page is SCREWED..... just re-choose your template and it'll restore it all nicey nice!*
Aside from that, did I mention that it was our big whoopdeedo 1 year anniversary 2 days ago? Probably not, but that's because we BOTH spaced it! My mother had to remind us! (We did get a card and 50 bucks from my mother-in-law, but we still couldn't remember the date!) So we did nothing but will go out for dinner next weekend!
AND.... I managed to lose 9 pounds since the beginning of our vacation!!! YEAH! And my gut is almost completely GONE!! Take that and shove it, post preggo gutella! HAHAHAHA! YES! It's about damn time. I think the secret lies in (seriously) eating way smaller meals but throughout the entire day. I'm eating carbs again too, I'm just not going banana's with them. And still no sugar. Yes, I do that Splenda crap, which I am sure there will be a breaking news bonanza about how it's cancer candy or something..
Today it was super hot out. I am almost finished with the dress (partly due to sneaking off to the living room so I can "speed knit" untill 3 am, I just want to get it DONE!) I'm ashamed to say that the skirt is still being neglected, but I am promising myself to tackle that AS WELL as cast on for Crumpets.. My problem is (and especially in the spring/summer where you want to go out more often) I have WAY TOO much knitting on my plate, and a gargantuous amount of yarn to back it up! Oh and the one skeined wonder keeps calling out, I fell in love with Joy's and I keep seeing a SLEW of them that keep taunting me! ("why, I have ton's of one skeiners!!!")
I did manage to sit in the sun for a few hours with Anthony while Helena frolicked in her super cool pool! (I HAVE to take a picture of this thing, it's NUTS! There's a sprinkler, a slide, toys, and it's all inflatable!!
There was more to write, but alas, we're about to eat dinner..

Vacation the finale! Warning: SUPER LONG ASS POST!

Okay, so where was I? Oh that's right, being a chicken with it's head cut off. Sheesh! I was, however, pretty productive! I got almost all of the thank you cards and my secret pal's package mailed out AND got photo's developed (only to realize that I should have done that in reverse so I could send out some pics to the family) Oh well, true to form, that's me!
So okay.... 3rd day June 6th we went to Great America in Santa Clara. I think that it was a "high school" day judging by the massive swarms of puberty stricken kids and the many announcements for people to meet up with Mr so and so's party immediately's. But it was actually pretty fun. Lee-Ann was the best person to go with because she's a maniacal dare devil! When I saw the bungee jump thing, i was like "NO FRICKING WAY" but then I kept thinking about it and thought to myself "well, why not? you only live once!" So we went to do that and at the last minute Charles decided he would join in too. So there we were getting dressed up in these awful velcro man girdles with strings, cables and foot bars galore. We were told that they would raise a ring up after the 1st couple of swings and we had to grab it! I was thinking it would be like a trapeze act, but it wasn't. We walked up (Anthony said we looked like astronauts ala "the right stuff") and stepped up onto this platform, they linked us together and without warning us....... dropped us!!! Now, this wasn't the BIG drop, but by far the scariest! On the video you see us all fall down 1, 2, 3! What you can't see on the video is that our faces were literally an inch away from the floor! Then they hoisted us up and for whatever reason, I felt really calm and okay with it. Then at the very top I did what we all do and started to think "Ohmygod!" but then we went and it was a total BLAST!!!! It was way less scary than the rollercoaster's! After a few swings, they gave us the ring, which didn't work out. Lee-Ann grabbed it and it ripped out of her hands. Then we got turned around backwards, so I think we got in about 10 extra swings. THen we proceeded to go on a bunch of crazy roller coasters, Top Gun, Invertigo and one that you stand up in. Helena got to meet Dora and Diego, Anthony took her on a kiddie roller coaster then yelled at me saying it was way too "dangerous"... But it was a GREAT day and we all had so much fun!

June 7th Tuesday.....
Decided to give Rossalyn and Lily a buzz. Made plans for saturday, had Lily email Jess because I didn't have her #..
Wednesday the 8th, I forgot what we did.. oops. But I know it was raining!

Thursday the 9th:
Lee-Ann, Helen and Charles are leaving, but their other daughter Nicole was coming in (she's doing one of those contiki tours with a girlfriend) So we pick her up and her friend comes over.. We pile everyone into 2 cars and are off to the San Francisco airport to say our goodbyes. Now, I didn't get into this too much on the blog, but let me give you all the shortened version.. Anthony's dad died when he was 9. Uncle Charles is his dad's 1/2 brother who lives in Australia. That family is the coolest! They are so funny, kind, generous and loving. So when it was time to say goodbye, we were ALL CRYING!!!!! So it was kind of a bummer. But it was so great to finally meet them and we're all keeping in touch via email. They are in Malta right now (for 6 weeks!) and Lee-Ann already wrote about howe she couldn't understand anyone, but met a hot guy already so WHOOOOOO! That's my girl!
So we went home after and I think I stayed up to knit...

Friday the 10th:
We went to Bonfanti gardens in Gilroy. It's a long trek, we thought the dvd player might be a good idea. 5 minutes away from our destination I hear Pauline in the back saying "Oh, oh, I think she's throwing up!" I turn around and sure enough, there's a little white curdled milk vomit (ewwwwww!) but then she realy let it go and alot more came! I'll spare you all any more descriptive details, but I almost threw up myself.. It was like 90 degrees out too! So we had to drive around and find a target... buy new clothes, wipes, soap and water and of course AUTO FABREEZE! The best stuff to be invented EVER!!!!! It WORKS! Let me tell you, personal experience and all.
We get to Bonfanti and it is soooo amazingly beautiful! It's part botanical garden, part kiddy rides.. They actually grafted these trees together to make it look like lattice! There was japenese wisteria hanging off of arbors and trellis' everywhere! Blooming artichokes! Hydrangeas! Tulips, crepe myrtle, I can go on and on... I highly reccomend this to anyone with kids! They had really cool rides that have no restrictions (except maybe "No ride if you are TALLER than *this*). We went on the artichoke dip, a ferris wheel, walked under waterfalls, almost went paddle boating (no seatbelts and helena definitely would have jumped in!) And lots more, but I'll stop yakking about it.. All in all it was a beautiful place!
Ros had called me and she had other plans for saturday so we went out friday instead. Yes, it's always weird meeting up with folks you only know on-line, but I've had nothing but great luck with that so far! Plus, any pal of Joy's has gotta be very cool! She actually brought her lap top so I could check my email!!!! How great is this girl? (A. INCREDIBLY!) So we went to Berkely and went to a place called Jupiter's.. Word to the wise, the house merlot is to be avoided at all costs. You may wonder what it tasted like.... well, take a splash of wine, add to it some water that has been soaking in used cigarette butts, throw in a hint of chocolate and voila! House Merlot. EWWWWWWW! Oh, and we went to the ATM machine (Ros had to instruct me on how to use one, because I am a tad on the eccentric side and hate bank accounts) So I grabbed the cash and the reciept, but FORGOT THE CARD!!
I'm trying to write fast because dinner is almost done and I totally forgot to mention that Ros had some Cotton Ease in sugar plum for me!!!!!!!! It's dis-continued and they are O-U-T of it everywhere here! So she literally saved my butt! Ros is from New York, so we had alot of east coast versus west coast gabbing. She is soo smart, funny and cool! I wish I could have stayed out all night with her! In fact, I said I'd be home around 9 pm and all of a sudden I looked at the clock and it was past 12:30 AM!!!!!!!! Whoops! Uh-oh! Oh well! That's how much fun she is to hang out with! Plus, she's also a whisky girl! I wish that we had more time to hang out.. NEXT TIME!! Thank you Ros for everything! I really loved meeting you and hope we can do it more next time! (and JOY!!!!! Joy is moving there too! I am so pysched!) So we made it home in good time, with my tail slightly between my legs and feeling like I was 13 years old and late for curfew!

Saturday the 11th:
Lily drove up from Santa Cruz!! Holy smokes! She is soooooooooo nice! So after meeting the family we set off for San Francisco. First we had to meet up with my brother-in-law, his wife Melissa, Nicole and her pal Michelle (the australians) on haight street. Easier said than done. Lily pretty much knew how to get there but Melissa said to take a left instead of a right and we ended up taking a scenic tour of san francisco and the presidio! After driving around in circles for a while and veering way off course, met a man with a map, went the wrong way again, finally figured it out and made it to haight just in time to see those lovely nekkid folks MOUNTING their bicycles. Ewwwwww. I tried to get frontals, but cars kept blocking the shot. Lily and I were in utter shock, awe and a suspended state I like to call "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!' and semi-disbelief! We went to the McDonald's to meet up with the family and can't get thru on Melissa's cell phone! All that way... for NOTHING??! But it cut a big ol chunk out of YARN SHOPPING TIME!!!!!!
We ended up calling Brian, who had gotten seperated from the girls! Then we were about to leave and Melissa calls, so we went to a bar, they gave the aussies shit for not having an american id, der! Got beers anyways, then we all parted and it was off to check out yarn stores. Lily did an amazing job, she can sure pick 'em! We went to Atelier first (1945 Divisadaro, SF) which was a "nice" yarn shop. By nice I mean 'the GOOD stuff'!!! But losing the atm card kinda put a damper on my yarn shopping spree. I did buy a book for my secret pal there though.. next up was "Greenwich Yarn" (2073 Greenwich Street, sf). Now, lily had read on the knitters review that the owner was ummmm "mean". She was sitting at a table with a couple other folks, she wasn't jumping up and down for joy, but she did acknowledge us, pleasantly at that. I bought some cable holders for my crumpets and we were off to ART FIBERS STUDIO!! Holy smokes! We were in heaven! I made a total boob out of myself. I was a total yarn groupie! Starry eyed and the whole shebang! This place is THE best place ever!!! We just fondled all of the luxuriousness, marveled at the gorgeous, and I mean GORGEOUS colors, ooohed over the swatches, ahhhed over the knitted garments they had on display. First thing I spied when I walked up was a BEEEEEEYOUTEEEEFUL dress, and I was promptly given the pattern.. before I had even bought anything! They will make you a custom designed pattern with their software! (And also will be selling the software soon! YES!) You can go and sit in the back, they ENCOURAGE you to, and knit up your own swatches of ANY and ALL of the yarn they offer BEFORE you buy it! Not only that, but they also encourage folks to come in with pals JUST TO KNIT! That's right! You can get a gaggle of gals together and hang out on their comfy chairs and just knit all day! They also have a bargain room where it's a buck an ounce. Let me tell you, I couldn't decide if it was a blessing or a curse to have lost my atm card. I think if I had it, I may have depleted the account in that shop. The lady there was so nice and informative. Lily bought a bunch of beautiful green yarn and I got some pewter gray Lania to make the dress! (8 skeins of it 8 bucks 170 yards each) Now this yarn says it's mostly cotton with a small bit of fine wool... But it is sooooo soft, sooo silky, so decadent that I am finding it hard to believe it's contents! I want to write an article about this place, that's how much of an impression it made on me! I encourage you all to immediately hit their website or if you can go to it in person for the full on experience!
So Lily and I decided to call it a day, but I had so much fun with her! She is the most down to earth, easiest to get along with, nicest chick! Once we are in Portland, I made her promise to come up for a weekend (or more!!!!) so I can return the favor to her.
Oh, and I was kinda bummed out but alas, understood this- Jess was graduating and couldn't make it out! But that's alright, there's always next time!
But a big thank you to Ros and Lily for taking me out and making my trip extra memorable! You girls are the coolest and I am so glad we hung out! I can't wait to go back now, and once I am in Portland, I want to do a girl's weekend! Yey!!! You guys are even nicer and cooler in person! Thank you so much again!!!!

So on Sunday we had the Galea side of the family over, Helena went swimming in her pool buck ass naked, and we hung out with some of Anthony's pals..

Monday we sat around for the most part and hung out with our friend Jerry.

And Tuesday we were off to the oakland airport.. Where we got "selected" to be patted down, have our bags x-rayed, have a thorough "metal detector wanding", have them open up Helena's TOYS!!, make her walk thru the metal detector by herself even... A buncha BS!!! I have a hunch that it's because of our last name. It seems that EVERY time we travel we get "selected", so yes, I am a bit irate over that. Anthony seriously wants to change our name to DOE, Smith or Jones... I can't believe the nerve and stupidity of these people... It's bordering on HARRASSMENT!
But aside from that, we made it home in one piece...
And then it was onto Helena's birthday party, which went well, lots of presents, lots of friends, food and beer.. Which I have like 3 cases remaining still... Hey, who wants some Pabst Blue Ribbon???
I am about to pass out from writing so much, but I kind of wanted to get it done with and now I can finally relax! Phewwwwww!
If any of you actually read this ENTIRE post, I'd like to commend you personally! For those of you who just sped-read, hahahaha, I probably would have too!
Now, to go and knit some more..... ahhhhhh.

So when I return, I will tell you all about how I went bungee jumping, bonfanti gardens and motion sickness, my wild and crazy night out with Ros, complete with a bad wine review, my fun and fabulous yarn in the afternoon excursion with Lily, complete with naked dudes, the wonders of Haight Street, the BEST YARN STORE EVER, dispelling an internet rumor, and plenty more!
Oh, and Helena's birthday party, one more reason why my cousin's wife is an absolute bitch, Candy going to thailand and indonesia (Two words lady.... Brokedown Palace! Watch it!!! Then cancel and cash in your tickets!), How I made 30 bucks by signing a paper, a finished Orangina, the new dress I am wooorking on, and my lack of allegience to frogging the damn ruffle on that fricking skirt!
And Bevin, when are we getting together?
And how I am the worst secret pal to have because I STILL haven't sent out the damned package! I promise myself tomorrow! Ahhhhhhhhh! Whose got some valium???
Okay my lovey's! I'll be back!

Short on time but not on content!

Hey! I am being a slacker and taking a break from my cleaning frenzy! I really shouldn't be though, so I am going to make this one short and sweet. I really miss posting as often as I used to! Everything's been hectic, Helena's party is tomorrow. The reason I have to clean? Well, it's been gloomy out all day and if it gets rained out then everyone has to come into my dusty house! I decided to nix cooking so I wouldn't have a pyschotic break down and get all overwhelmed! Yey ME!
Technically TODAY is HElena's birthday! So happy birthday my beautiful and wonderful daughter! You are a daredevilin' hot dog, too smart for your age, too beautiful for words and I wouldn't have it any other way! I love you more than life itself! And I am truly blessed to have had you!
Here she is in all of her tap dancing toddler glory!

medium_helena_tap.jpg

Anyways, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that my pal Mary-Margaret is getting MARRIED TODAY!!!!!! Congratulations MMJ! I wish you, Jason and Patia all of the greatest luck and happiness on this truly special day! May your marriage be a long, happy, and blessed one and oh, I don't know, I'm starting to sound like a hallmark card, but....... I love you and I am so happy and excited for you! I hope you have the best day EVER! I can't wait to see the pics! Plus, I'll always remember YOUR anniversary, although I am still foggy as to MINE! Classic!
Also, I will be writing about the crazy vacation on monday, but since I have been unavailable, here are a few pics of Rosalyn and the naked folk that Lily and I had the misfortune to run into on Haight Street. We really didn't need to see a bunch of mis-shapen naked dudes with lil' smokies, but hey! Didn't I tell you guys that when us knitters get together, some dude always takes his clothes off?!!! I don't know if it's just me or not yet.. Maybe there is some strange universe/cosmos type thing going on around me where men just wanna go commando in my presence? And if that's so, maybe the next time they could be under 50 and at least semi-fit? Oh and maybe a bigger package might be nice too! If I HAVE to look at it could you just make it at least a semi-pleasant experience? It wasn't even cold out!

How I spent my summer vacation DAYS 1-

Well! I just got in late last night!! Holy sheep turd! I have so much catching up to do! I am going to write everyone back, but it may take a few days! I had a great time and I even got a farmers tan! I went bungee jumping!!!!!! It was GREAT! I went out for drinks with Ros and yarn shopping with Lily! I went to THE BEST yarn store EVER!!!!!!!! I lost our atm card! I lost my camera card! (But I still have a couple pics I can put up!) And I ddin't even know that the Spun article came out! I still haven't read that properly or really seen the new issue yet!
Okay, I know that you are all now just brimming with curiousity and excitement, so let's begin, shall we?
We left the house around 1 and after waiting forever in the airport (which, by the way, not only allowed my knitting, but also allowed me to carry like 4 lighters and tweezers!) Went to pittsburgh (***** stars for allowing me to flaunt my disgusting habit of cigarette smoking publicly, so long as I just buy some booze with it!) plus the short layover was nice. I had to ask myself if we accidentally detored off into a mall, there were so many shops (including a clinique!) Pittsburgh to Denver........ Holy crap! The Denver airport was so much bigger than I ever expected, we had to to take a little train/subway to switch from USAir to United.. who I am boycotting from now on! They SUCK! Although they were not rude to us personally, they were to a fair amount of other passengers. They pack you like sardines, offer the LEAST leg room possible, and are more often than not late taking off and it's almost as if they don't open the door for as long as possible when you land. I have a suspicion that it is on purpose! Oh and the 1st class stewardess was a 1st class BITCH! It made me seriously ponder that mega-hit (har!) movie with Gwenyth Paltrow where she's a stewardess and gets stuck in Cleveland doing business economy which is where they put all the retarded and dumb ones.. I wonder if that heirarchy really exists and if it does, than it makes alot more sense as to why some of the airline's employee's have serious issues! This of course is NOT based on this particular instance but throughout the years I have flown with them! Plus, you'll know more about that when I get to the last day of our trip. (great foreshadowing, haha) ANYWAYS, on with the drama. So Denver also has a smoking lounge (***** stars again!) I went into the lounge and there was another drink minimum to smoke, left my wallet with Anthony, luckily some dude bought me a diet coke so I could power puff. Anthony says us smokers are sick! We are akin to cripples and will go to any lengths to help a fellow smoker out! Getting from point A to point B in Denver was easy peasy. So we finally are on our way to Oakland. Helena and Anthony, although at times a bit crabby, actually traveled surprisingly well this trip! Phew! We bought a portable DVD player. It saved our asses and afforded us patience for a blissful hour and a half. Then the battery went dead. Note to those with smal children: Don't bust out the dvd player untill the ride is almost over. Helena had a mild coronary and couldn't grasp the idea of "battery-dead".
We get to the airport, we were super tired. Apparantly they are re-doing it, so you have to meet up in baggage claim. First I saw my mother in law Pauline. But she brought along Anthony's brother and wife, his Aunt Helen, her husband Charles and their daughter Leann. So in other words we were met by what we called the "maltese mafia". It was pretty cool to see everyone though! We went back to Pauline's (MIL) and yakked untill 4:30 am (east coast time) and had to go to bed.

June 5th Sunday: We had a party for the Buhagiar side of the family. Got to eat great tex-mex food and drank alot of wine. Got to see his old drummer from Canyon Creep and his pal Paul. It was pretty fun and Helena was the absolute center of attention, so she had a blast.

June 6th Monday: Did the tourist thing. Went to golden gate bridge (photo's lost with stupid camera card!) It was so windy. While I think the Golden Gate Bridge is 'nice' and 'pretty' I still fail to see the obsession. I also should interject that I feel the same way about alcatraz. Then we were off to MUIR WOODS.
Muir woods is where some of Vertigo was filmed. We took pictures, and I'm bummed because they were really good ones, so of course they where on the card, but if you click on the muir woods in blue, you can see the slab with tree rings where Kim Novak was like "I was born somewhere around here" (fingering wood rings) For those who don't know, Muir Woods is home to some Giant Redwoods. The only reason that they are still standing is because they couldn't get the lumber down the hill. The road will make you dizzy (maybe a hidden double meaning in Hitchcock's title?) because it is soooooo small and soooooo winding. With curves and turns every second. Then we went to Sausalito. I knit in the car while everyone else went to eat pizza (Helena fell asleep anyways and we didn't want to wake her up). I did however get scolded for not eating (pizza is NOT on atkins!). One thing about my mother in law and many of the maltese relatives is that they want you to EAT EAT EAT. And don't think you can get away with a small portion either! Needless to say, a couple of days into the vacation, my diet was DOOMED! (Besides, Pauline is a fantastic cook) So we went back home and..........ATE! Then I knit more. Since we had relatives staying with us from Australia, we were kind of bound to doing family things. At this point I was wondering when we would have "free" time because I was really excited to get together with the gals! But it turned out that everything worked out perfectly (except for JESS, more later on that) and we had THE BEST time getting to know them, they are the kindest, coolest, funnest folks. We all cried when they left.
Australians are savvy to American TV and movies! They get almost ALL of the same shows we do! Weird huh? Leann skateboards! I'm sending her the 1st stitch and bitch as well as yarn and needles because she wants to start knitting! (Another convert! Muwahahahaha!!!) Yes, there was talk about vegemite and marmite. And yes, I DO like both. Oh and in Australia, EVERYONE has to vote! Or you get FINED! I personally think that the same law should apply here, but Anthony disagrees.
I totally forgot my secret pal's address! DAMNIT! And I should have been backing off stitches on an important project but ended up casting on for an orangina instead! Ahhh. but I must write more later. This post is way too long and we all need a little break! Consider this intermission or something....
Let me just get one more thing straight about the airlines (and I wish it were the last mention of it, but alas, let's not forget the trip HOME is still to come) But quick note to USAir and the food. One, I don't think that you can LEGALLY refer to a roast beef sandwich with a side of sun chips as "GOURMET", please just find another non-misleading term to use.. like "great if you are starving!" Also, that's highway robbery for that cow pie on a shingle! Also, they have stopped serving free food. What's the difference between you and southwest? Ummmm, southwest is still cheaper! But they have a trolly filled with (and I couldn't BELIEVE THIS.....) Gummy bears, beef jerky, candy, chocolate and PRINGLES! Not the small cans, the big ol' tall ones!! Seriously, you could at least offer ONE HEALTHY OPTION!!!!!!! It was like 7-11 in the sky! Seriously, shame on you!

More wine please.

I'm back to my calm, cool and collected self, after downing a glass of red wine.. Mind you, and this is the gross part, it was left over from last night! But do I care? NO. I drank it anyways! And I am glad I did, I needed a major attitude check. I'm no longer peeved about the previous post. I'm going to try and forget all about it.
I was like this...........

Then I did this................

so I can............................

EDIT: Okay I am the big bitch leading a bitch brigade! Apparantly, the top was from last summer, thereby leaving me with a humongus and ill tasting proverbial SHOE IN MY MOUTH!!!!! Thanks to the nice gals who pointed that out ever so gracefully and diplomatically! I'm hereby a big asshole! But it's nice to know that I got my peeps lookin' out for me! I still feel like a heel though! That's what I get for jumping to conclusions and shooting my big mouth off! One slice of humble pie, please! Make that a double!

Would YOU be annoyed slightly?

Upon seeing THIS??

medium_hemp-ptn315b.jpg

If you took Lelah and added short sleeves......
It's a *little* too close for my comfort! Am I over reacting here? It looks like Lelah down to the eyelets, but they used vine lace......... hmmmmmmmmm......I don't know, maybe it truly is just a coincidence. I'm over it now, but I was super peeved when I first saw it.
But I honestly haven't seen anything anywhere else that looks like Lelah. I was inspired by Lelah's neckwarmer, but that's why it's named lelah!!!!!

And let me also take this opportunity to vent about another thing! Melissa's ex fiancee is a cad and a heel!!!!!! He needs to be burned alive at the stake. But kudos to Melissa for handling things so very very well and pampering herself like she deserves!!!!!!!!! Love you Melissa! You are a strong and beautiful girl who lands on her feet and thank god you didn't marry that moron!

I had to edit out some of this post as I was clearly being a mega bitch and jumping to conclusions. Whether or not it's coincidence, I don't know still, but to be fair, I shouldn't be a big ol' bitch about it not knowing if it's a a innocent coincidence or a morally wrong decision on someone's part.
Plus the truth of the matter is that anyone can legally take your work and change 7 to 10% of it and LEGALLY call it their own.. Nice food for thought huh?

I'm not a fricking hippy, DIG???!!!!!!!!

medium__1794325_britney_70s.jpg NOT me HIPPY
More like me:

medium_bass1_500.jpg

What in the hell? Okay, let's prep this saga up a bit before I start..
I am making postcards for helena's 2nd birthday... Oooh! wait! Here is the front of it.....
medium_tiki-ryden.jpg

Perfecto, RIGHT???!!!!!!!!
A beeeee-you-tee-ful tiki painting by one of my ALL TIME favorite artists, Mark Ryden. (for some super cool viewing, please visit HERE-anyone who reads juxtapoz magazine are probably already familiar... but if you aren't- it's so worth a looksee!)
And here is the back (address removed for any potential cyber stalkers! Don't laugh! It actually HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! but that, my beautiful friends, is A WHOLE OTHER STORY! -but someone remind me to tell y'all later, it's a giggle)

Okay, it won't let me use that extension... damnit! Actually, that's my life story, ALWAYS!
So, I'm making postcards... out of postcards.. go to Staples where I am basically over run and accosted by a cleft lipped matthew mcconaughey look alike who is
homeless as well and a big time truckin greatful dead mother road gypsy weed smoker who thought I was a freaking hippy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EWWWWWWWWWWWW! Nothing against my fine granola crunching pals, but I AM NOT A HIPPY!!!!!!!! I'm METAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL! Okay, I look like a 'stoner rocker' but not a hippy! I'm not that nice! P.S. for a 'homeless' dude, he had ALL of his teeth and they were whiter than mine! Although red wine tends to bring on a tint..
Anyways, that being cleared up, I bought the cheaper postcards which barely fit into the printer and they are coming out all crappy. Then I realize I am out of color ink! The saga continues! I then proceeded to (after changing the cartridge) print twice on the same side!
Is there a space magnet in me that just screeches "KICK ME!!!!!!!!!" or something?
My husband's solution to all of my annoyances is pouring me humongus glass after mammoth glass of cheap red wine, IT'S NOT REALLY HELPING HONEY, it's just making me type worse and mess up more, but he gets an "A" for effort nonetheless.
How does one invite my friend Candy to this thing? Should I just put "Candy + boyfriend du jour"???
I can't keep up!
And how do I manage to gain 3 pounds on a diet? These are burning questions, inquiring folks really wanna know!
And what in the hell does "DH" stand for? And how come I don't know, but pretend to when people incessantly re-use the damn abbreviation over and over and over?
If I could best compare myself to a movie character right now, it'd have to bee pee wee herman in pee wee's big adventure where he goes something like "It's like a big ball of YARN! And someone keeps knitting and knitting and knitting......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And for anyone who is taking this post too seriously, it's alright! I'm alright! Although the above is TRUE, it's very tongue in cheek. I get my entire sense of humor out of my so called life! I'm serious!
Oh! And I am most certainly NOT A HIPPY!
Oh, Ros, Lily and Jess! I am emailing you all manana (I think that means tomorrow) with info!
That's enough red wined rambling for one evening! I think I'll call it a night. I feel like ending this post with the infamous Kiss/detroit rock city intro.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! You wanted the best! YOU GOT THE BEST! Introducing the hottest band in the wur-uld!!!!!!!!! KISS!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. still no luck finding jupiter yarn!
PPS this is like the never ending post!!!!
I'm actually amusing myself by continuing to add tidbit after tidbit of useless knowledge and babbling!
I'm like a jack of all trades yet a master of none!
The chickpea is neither a chick NOR a pea!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't anybody have a giant cane/hook so they can wrangle me off stage?!!!!!!!!

Curses! Clapotois!

So I desperately needed a break from the million year project. I messed up on ONE stitch, tryed to fudge it and now have to back off a zillion stitches and many, many rows. I'll save that for the plane and finish it in california.. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
So I started the Clapotois, as so many of my fellow beauties have shown such terrific results with theirs.
It's a yarn eater! Watch out girls, she'll chew you up! Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh. I did less three increase rounds. I finally found a suitable project for all that weird but pretty Jupiter yarn from Trendsetter. I love how it looks and I love knitting this, it's so much fun. Well, you all know that fun-lovin' gal I am, that the party is too fleeting. I've run out of yarn. Yes, yes, I have another 2 or so skeins of it, HERE, in this house somewhere. Can I find it? Well, NO!
I seriously need some organization to the stash collection. And I must downsize. (hey, I gave my ex-boyfriend's very fun and cool girlfriend 2 skeins the other night! I'm working on it!)
So here, a few pics of clapotois interuptus..........

medium_clapotis3.jpg
medium_clappy2.jpg

Aside from my ever-present bad knitting luck, I highly recomend this pattern because it is SOOOOO much fun to knit!
Much more later, as I plan on leaving with a big post to tide y'all over before I leave for 2 moons and many a fortnight's.....
Oh. and a public lashing and flogging at DHL, who has now f***ed up yet ANOTHER package for my beautiful lady friend Mary-Margaret. While this one is not on say a "work" deadline, it is on a "personal" one. Either they FIRE their inept delivery dude or we BOYCOTT!!!!!!!!!!!
I do have friends who work at the P.O. and I am all about the support of their jobs, as they are in jeapordy anyways..
FYI: Every privately owned package company retains the right to search your packages at leisure, not that I am like mailing illegal things, but if you care about privacy, the old US post office respects your privacy and is not allowed to open any packages, therefore, I believe that's another reason why packages actually get to their destinations and in a timely fashion!
Did you know that email alone has put a big dent in them financially and that with all of the competition, we might not even have post offices anymore?!
