Square one, again!

The planets are misaligned I think. I ripped out the scarf, it was too wide and not vintage looking enough for my style. I started the camisole, I ALWAYS knit to gauge for some reason, NOT THIS TIME! It calls for #3 needles, 24 st=4". So I try 4's. Nope. 5's.....uh-uh.. Pain in my proverbial ASSSSSSS-UH!
So we're back to square one. I AM going to make a short sleeved lacy pullover with that brilliant, just not yet. I want to do a prototype so to speak with a scarf first. But I LOVE this yarn so much!
I also started a feather and fan capelet using the felted merino from elite.. And I'm not digging on that either.. I wanted to use 13's but they are just too big. YARN, BEND TO MY WILL!!! and my yarn is like f*** YOU Christine! F*** Yoooooooooou! We will NOT conform!" So it's a battle and apparantly my yarn is winning.
So I'm just doodling around waiting for a brainstorm to brew me up some inspiration.
There is nothing worse than having new yarn and no plans for it! I feel like a slighted semi retarded A-team episode, where the plan doesn't come together!

Not so LYS

So today I went over to portsmouth to pick up one of my oldest and bestest pals, Mel so we could go yarn shopping. And so we went to Sakonnet Purls. This place ROCKS! They had every type of Rowan yarn in every color!!!! And it was cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it! The ladies there are so friendly, helpful and chatty! We were there hanging out for over an hour! I picked up Vintage knits which said 18 but I only paid 12.95 (YES!) plus 7 skeins of Rowan cotton for 6.25/skein PLUS they have a "bargain barn" where I coveted another 4 skeins of classic elite waterspun merino, $3/skein!!!!!! And then we had to go to A.C. Moore, where we ran into one of Mel's students who I swear to god was the spitting image of NICK CAVE!!! Hunka hunka. And he was like 18! Does that make me a pedophile for thinking he was hot? So I bought 2 skeins of patons's brilliant in green glitter. It's so sparkly late 50's I love it! I've been eyeing it for a while now but finally caved in today.
I can't stop listening to Suplecs' new album! Holy mother lovin ROCK! BRILLIANT! I can't wait for them to come around again, although we always end up getting way too sauced! This album is soooo great, the songs stick in your head hours after listening to it!
On a side note, I can't sign into craftster for some reason! Which sucks. So anyone who needs help or advice on Lelah- if you are reading this- you can email me @ Cchristine16@yahoo.com. And a side note to all the on-line gambling sites, stop spamming ME and MY BLOG!
Here's what I'm doing and what I got.
I started a scarf with the brilliant in feather and fan, but I don't think I like it.

Free patterns

So I had to make a new album and can't transfer the old album unless I take new pics? Pain in my ass! Anyways, more to come later. I just finished my Exene belt, I need to go out and buy some old school brass rings later! I'm off to the yarn store, although I have no idea what I'm GOING TO GET OR DO YET!

I've got to gather my notes and post the how to on craftster still. This pattern was a beeeeeeeyotch to fit right! I'm almost scared to post them, but I fudged my way through them too! Anyways, I might make *ONE* more, third times a charm!
I also have to do the elastic in the lelah skirt, so after my batteries chaerge, I'll put up pics of that too!
As promised, knobby assed knees and all (now y'all know why I like the just below the knee length, tee hee!)

Weekend Nectar time!

Yup, it's thursday! I'm going to start referring to Anthony as "the man" becuase, well, he is, but otherwise, I just like the sounds of it! Anyways, it's payday which means the man always indulges my outrageously expensive tastes in fine spirits..
This weeks super-elixer HAS to be an espresso martini, because I've been kicking out the Lelah top and need some fuel to finish..

Espresso cocktail
Iced espresso (to taste)
1 jigger kahlua
1 jigger bailey's
1 jigger vodkasan
Shake with ice, strain and serve!

Aside from that I am totally floored with the responses to the Lelah skirt! They like it! They really, really like it!
But I must get back to my other love, the Lelah top! Don't cry, I'll be back!

OH NO!

Well, I guess you can call it a happy accident........ The top I designed is sooo big that it's going to be a SKIRT now, with the help of some elastic.. I really need to get one of them software cd's that do the math for you because my math SUCKS! Not to worry, when all fails, I'll try, try again! I'm going to re-work the pattern and IT WILL BE A TOP!!!!!!!!!!!! But I think Andre 2000 would approve of this design! HEY-YA!!!!!!!! OH-OH! Work it like a polaroid, baby!
Here she is in all her grandiose and mammoth glory! (double clicky on the pics to see better)

Questions!

First off, CHECK THIS OUT! hahahaha, it's called gizoogle, do a search on yourself or blog! I almost peed myself! "For those who like ta rock, kizzle n drink! `bout Me with the gangsta shit that keeps ya hangin." Shanghied from Knitizen!
You say "christine! I'm just dying to know more about you, but I'm too afraid to ask!" Ohhh, it's okay, I'll fill out this questionaire thingy and all will be revealed!
P.S. - I expect y'all to fill this out and post on your respective bloggities!
1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high- a nd/natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
A- I'm a total yarn snob, but since we have been broke lately, I have been exploring cheap yarn and actually liking it!
2. Do you spin?
A- I have a wheel! I have yet to experiment but am planning on making my own yarn soon!
3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.
A-NO!
4. How long have you been knitting?
A- Since I was about 14, off and on.
5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
A- just the ones in my head.
6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
A- Freesia by crabtree and evelyn, peony, sandalwood, lily of the valley, honeysuckle... I love flowery aromas!
7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
A- Not really. But I like sweet tea. Oh and sweet leaf. I LOVE YOU!
8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
A- I don't have the time for all of them anymore, but sewing, making jewelry, leathercrafting, I'll craft anything!
9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
A- I like METAAAAAAAAAAAL!! Old hardcore and punk, prog rock, pyschedelic garage bands from the 60's and 70's, old, old country, and yes, it's true.. I like outkast!
10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer?
A- They say it isn't a color, but I love me some blacker than blacker than black y'all! Scarlet red, orange, bright moss green, ice blue and turquoise, lilac, nature colors I suppose.. BUT I'M NOT A HIPPIE!
11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
A- I am married. I have 3 pets... my baby helena, my husband Anthony and my cat baby cat.
12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know) Life dream?
A- Oh, those silly things.. Owning a home eventually and having Helena be very very happy. I had other dreams, but they weren't kid friendly ones.
13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
Mohair, thick and thin, novelty yarns that I can't afford to make a sweater out of, If it's a yarn, I like it and knit with it for the most part. Anything that's different from the standard issues. My main gripe is I can never find the yarn I want in a color I truly like, or a color in a yarn I like!
14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
A- Yarns that don't work on the needles well. Mercerized cotton is not my best friend.
15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
See above.
17. What are you knitting right now?
A- This really cute orange top I designed, I actually really love how it's coming out, a few more rows and I'm done!
18. What do you think about ponchos?
A- Easy to knit, very 70's. I'm kind of more into capelets as they aren't as tent-like. I like that whole stevie nicks era of ponchos.
19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
A- Both!
20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
A- I have all, I knit slower with the wood, I used to hate metal, but have been using them more lately and kinda liking them but my favourites are from new zealand, BRYSPUN! Pointy and flexible, easy on the paws!
21. Are you a sock knitter?
A- One day I might be, I've been meaning to give it a go but the desire isn't strong enough yet, besides I NEVER wear them.
22. How did you learn to knit?
A- My lovely mommy, so patient, taught me and is still my main reference source. She's a crafty fox.
23. How old is your oldest UFO?
A- Ummm, I just unearthed some enigmas from high school, dating back about 15 years!
24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?
A-I love Ravens, Hawks and eagles.. Predatory birds. I like all animals though. I'm an animal looov-ah!
25. What is your favorite holiday?
A-Halloween!
26. Is there anything that you collect?
I collect so much stuff, fiestaware, old linens, day of the dead, clothes, oh, and dust! Alot of dust!

Knitting Chaos

Well, I made 2 neckwarmers, added them to the pile of things I need to block! I got a great idea knitting these up. A tube top! But kind of a-line, eyelets under the boobage area with a tie and stockinette 'round the breastesses area, bind off and then go back and pick it up to do a repeat of the fish tail lace for some trim........... Hmmmm. I think I'm going to rip out that orange cardigan and try this on circulars! A.D.D.!!!!!!!! BRILLIANT!
Here's some various photo's. Including a tweaked spiderweb capelet for Candy, the orange sweater to be ripped out, the 2 neckwarmers and that stupid sweatshirt sweater I haven't woven the ends in or attatched the hood still...

John Doe RULES

I've been playing around with some ideas for lace
medium_pompeian.jpg

medium_pompeian_scarf.jpg
medium_pompeian.3.jpg

And then I got bored of the repeats so I was like "what do I do with all that mercerized cotton I bought but can't return because the receipt was in my wallet that I lost????"
Then came up with a great idea (IMO!) inspired by one of my all time favorite bands, X!!!!!!!! It's a BELT!!!!! I got to go out and get some brassy rings! I'll put up instructions for everything later this week on the free patterns page. I also think I am going to concoct up a purse to match the belt!
I haven't decided on a title yet. Exene? Cervenka? Hmmmmm. Anyways here is-
medium_exene.jpg
medium_x_belt.jpg

But amidst my mindless knitting, I fucked up on a row and proceeded to knit 5" reversed, so I have to frog back! So, being a.d.d. and seeming how I just can't possibly tolerate that at the moment, I am going to attempt this neckwarmer of love!
See it, Knit it, HERE!
That's all for now. I feel sick, I almost puked 3x today and I am about to go and eat a buncha turnips! But first I have to print out my neckwarmer of LOOOOOOOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! instructions~
P.S. Check out the rest of woolgathered, it's GREAT!!!
OOOOOOPS, I just checked my page and it appears I put the same photo in 2x. That's 2 bad because I am not gonna change it cuz I don't feel good!

Mother's RUIN!!!

I just found out that gin was referred to back in the day as "mother's ruin", cuckold's delight and "opiate of the masses" HA! That's great! Funny as I don't feel ruined and gin always had the tendency of getting me all hopped up rather than sedated, I'm married to the greatest guy in the world, no cuckolding 'round these parts!
Anyways, it's Thursday and you all know what that means! Hooch day! Time for the weekly drink recipe. This weekend I plan on imbibing either this lemongrassy gin elixer-
I shall dub it "LEMONGRASS, ASS OR CASH (nobody drinks for free!) or alternately; "the same drink I always drink only with lemongrass"
Ingredients
1 thick stalk lemongrass
1 ounce lime juice
1⁄2 ounce simple syrup (see note)
1 1⁄2 ounces gin
1⁄2 ounce Grand Marnier
1⁄2 ounce Cointreau
1 ounce soda water
Remove the outer leaves of the lemongrass, and slice approximately 20 dime-size circles from the bottom of the stalk. Place the circles into the bottom of a large mojito glass. Mix the lime juice and simple syrup together, add to the lemongrass, and muddle with a thick wooden spoon. Pour in the gin, Grand Marnier, and Cointreau, and stir. Add ice, top off with soda water, and garnish with the remaining lemongrass stalk.
NOTE: To make simple syrup, boil 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan a few seconds till dissolved; let cool.
As I have yet decided as to whether or not I want to *ahem* mix it up (bad pun), here's my other option:
MAL OJO MOJITO MARTINI:
2 jiggers sauza or tequila of your choice
1 to 1 1/2 jiggers cointreau (it's a taste thing, I add more)
juice of 1/2 to one whole lime (depending on if you get good limes or not)
and maybe a dash of some simple syrup if it's too much of a tart for your tongue.
And some mint!, minced up
Put all but the mint in a glass with ice, shake it up, strain it into a chilled glass and then add a little (or in my case ALOT) of the mint leaves atop and be amazed at how quickly you can suck these babies down.

Okay, plus my old pal Jason (amazing crowns) fixed my vodkasan tobbaci tao atavar thingamajig so it WINKS!!!!!!! (just not on my computer, apparantly) See?!!!

medium_christine_avatar.gif

Thanks Jason!!

And thank you to my lovely daughter and the institution of a thing called marriage! We are getting a ridiculous amount of money back this year! And my husband's going to buy a rice burner so I can have my gas guzzling 1/4 tank to newport s.u.v. back! YES! I love that car!!!!!! I MISS MY CAR!! seeming as how I only get to see and drive it on the weekends, it's like I'm getting back full custody! Life is GOOD!

Sandra tagged me again so here's more or less about ME (enough about ME, more about ME!)
1. How much space is left on your TIVO or Comcast box?
None, I am terribly archaic and have yet to get one of these lil' doodads!

2. Have you ever bought a DVD of a tv series and if so which one?
Nooooooooo.

3. What was the last tv show you watched before reading this message ?
Project Runway, oh the drama. That Karen is a bitch!

4. List five shows you won't miss:
Carnivale
Soprano's
Crafters Coast to Coast
Battlestar Galactica
Night gallery

5. Three peeps to pass this on to?
Hmmmm... Jess, Kirsten and Kitten, respectively!

Caffeinated Rant! Mrrrrrrrooooowwww!!!!!!!!!

medium_me.gif

I had to do it, you should too, it's actually kind of fun! http://illustmaker.abi-station.com/index_en.shtml
I noticed a new blog on the knitting community, and I totally shanghied this link. Yes, it's supposed to look like me, but I'm not sure I really captured my true essence here! I like how the cig is protruding from my bottom lip, classy! Too bad I couldn't make myself wink!

My hair looks almost exactly the same, but healthier.. I'll have the man take some photo's later! I knit Candy a capelet for her work.. It's got more layers in it, not that that helped my hair look any fuller.. After the kid the hair went...flat! Well, flat-er, at least.. I also got some shiny red-pink highlights up in there.. I haven't decided if I need to change that or not.. Plus I got my bangs cut again so I look like Ed Grimley in the a.m.............soooooo sooooo prettty! YES!
OH! AND........... I lost my wallet, AGAIN! This time it looks as if for good. Anthony has always scolded me because I tend to throw my money into my bag and is forever nagging me, like a mantra "you're goin to lose money! Use a wallet! You're going to lose all your money, use as wallet!" So I started to use a wallet which I have lost and found about a zillion times, but this time it was on a city street, never to be seen again. My old way (throwing into a bag haphazardly) I NEVER EVER lost money, and even on the rare occasion I did, I would always re-locate it, in a jacket pocket or something, and always when I was BROKE! One time I found 400 bucks in my laundry, another a 100 dollar bill in a book I hadn't read in years!!! So, it seems as if there is something to be said about my chaos! I will never use a wallet again! Now I have to go to the dmv, wait in line forever, have a crappy picture taken and wait 2-3 weeks for them to mail it to me! DRAG!

I can't seem to stop myself with the capelet/poncho/shawl obsession! I had 2 skeins of this mystery yarn that I haven't known what to do with forever so it's being transformed into another snb spiderweb capelet!
I've been doing some thinking about why I seem to gravitate towards accessories when knitting... It dawned on me that I actually don't wear alot of sweaters and the ones I do are usually beaded vintage or fur collared ones... And I have no desire to try to tackle that! But I've always collected scarves and purses! I've got a ton, mainly from the 30's and 40's. And I have way too many carpetbags..
I really want to learn how to crochet, but mentally I am not sure if I am ready!

In other news, apparantly I was one of those 3 remaining folk's on the planet who hadn't read The DaVinci Code yet. My mom had given me the book months back but I was really thinking it was going to be more intricate with alot of branching off. I started it 2 nights ago and literally could not put it down! I'm making my husband read it now! It was so freeing to read in print what I had always theorized about! Like "yes!!! I KNEW it!" It was exactly the kind of re-enforcement my spiritual side needed. I know it's a work of fiction! But alot of it is rooted in truths.

Anyways, Oobi is over which means I must resume my motherly duties to the beautiful miss Helena!
I know I've been slacking on the pics lately, I'll try to get some up, but I think this time around, since so many of them have been gifts, I'll include their oh so lucky recipients with them. Besides 3 out of 4 are adorable lil' girls and the 4th is an adorable lil' big girl, fashionista and hairdresser to the stars, Miss Candy LaRose!!!!
One more thing, in the time it took to type that last part, Helena found her butt cream and it's now smeared all over her face.. sigh.. bath time!

Sunday

I've been really busy this weekend! Went to my last chiropractor's visit (glad to have that over with!), a CRAZY sugar fueled birthday party for my friends daughter Amaya, and now I have a million errands to run and I have to jet over to Newport so my beauty school drop-out/back in beauty school friend Candy can dye and cut my hair! Wish me luck, I have NO idea what the final outcome will be!

Inspiration....FIZZLED!

Ladies, beware! I am on a grouchy roll!
Sooooo, I actually finished seaming the sweatshirt.. ICK. I was experimenting with a new way of seaming and boy, can you tell! I *might* put up a pic, but I'm so not proud of it.. Semi good news is that I finally mastered it, but when I first started (on the sleeves) it's a bit smoogy. I'm going to wash it and see if it fares any better (y'all remember me spilling black coffee ala Black Flag on it). It's also rather LARGE.. good for lounging in.. And y'all know how I like to lounge, being a lovely lady of leisure and all!
So then, feeling so exuberated by my actually finishing the damn thing went on to designing my new idea.. Drawing- check! Design-check! Yarn-OH NO!!! I felt like I was knitting with that turkey-tying twine.. Mental note.. immediately return mercerized cotton, exchange for something that DOESN'T imitate the feel of freshly spun bark and twigs! It feels downright raspy against my fingers, rough and stiff, and I KNOW if I dares to wash it that the shape would just get lost anyways...
So it's back to square 2, plan B..
Besides that, my back feels like someone gave it a roundhouse drop-kick and I'm feeling an all-over MALAISE (Pronunciation: m&-'lAz, ma-, -'lez
Function: noun
Etymology: French malaise, from Old French, from mal- + aise comfort -- more at EASE
1 : an indefinite feeling of debility or lack of health often indicative of or accompanying the onset of an illness
2 : a vague sense of mental or moral ill-being)
AND those damned white ladies are making my stomach upset due to the fact that an ENTIRE lemon is used per drink.. so now I must find a new cocktail.. I feel like Huey fucking Lewis with some bad news.. I wanna new drink, one that won't make me sick!
So anyways, since my blog is so appropiately titled, I shall impart a new and special concoction from yours truly, the mastress mixologist.. (sarah my love, this one goes out to you!)
Good and Glamourous Goddess Gimlet
1 tbsn sugar
zee juice of one lime
a handful of intoxicatingly aromatic (FUH-RESH! as in scratching with a sugar hill gang lp) handful of minty greens (that's mint leaves!)
4-6 tbspn's VODKA (or Rum, arrrrrrrrr! walk the plank)
Ice Ice baby
and some fancy pants sparkling mineral water from some far-off exotic locale (or the generic brand commonly referred to as "soda water")
Put sugar sugar into a large (non-breakable) glass/tumbler, squeeze the lime juice over that, stir it to dissolve.
Add mint and stab furiously with the end of a wooden spoon, honey thingy, or whatever else you find in yer kitchen or craft stash....Add vodka and ice - slush about and top with a dash of seltzer..

Inspiration, brilliant!!

I highly, oh so very highly- recommend, no, make that I INSIST you all to get this book if you are in need of divine inspiration for ideas and designing...
Here is a link
What I adore most about this book is that she incorporates so much vintage knitwear into it, that alone was enough to get my mind reeling, but it's also a very easy read and is mostly in layman's terms.. This is my NEW KNITTING BIBLE!!! Now if I can just get around to actually knitting all of my ideas! THIS is my problem, my knitting a.d.d. - I'm always abandoning things midway through because I'm just not feeling as zesty about it as before or am thinking way too far ahead of myself, as soon as I have a project that is near completion, I'm already mentally into my next one, which causes me to get more excited about the new one, so I abandon my almost finished last one.. I have absolutely no self-control and a heaping pile of ufo's in need of blocking or seaming to further prove my point! I'd be far too embarrassed to even take a picture of it to show y'all, it's SHAMEFUL, I tell you! I finished 2 more of the bon bon capes (unblocked! But photo's later), and I was going to finish seaming the sides on the sweatshirt, but now I have this great idea for the mercerized black egyptian cotton.. a short cap sleeved v-neck cardigan with lace edgings! Ooh lala.. I'm battling with myself right now, I suppose I'll have to seam it right quickly and then it's on to swatching....
I have been in a knitting funk lately, maybe due to my back, or more likely just winter doldrums. That's what I love about spring, it's like re-birth and everything is fresh and new again, and I actually feel like a heavy fog has been lifted!
Well, more later, Helena's messing with the keyboard on me and saying cah-mmm aw-mmm! (translation "come on!")

WHY do I HAVE to have a title?

I'm fresh from the chiropractor's office! My back is still a bit kinked but I think I am back to 95%! I have one more visit on saturday and then I'm done! YES!
Keridiana-go to the left hand side, you'll see the album titles "it's all free, like a bird" click on that, enter gallery and the magie noir pattern is in there. The prototype (which I'm liking way better than the black one) was done on size 10 1/2 needles with the heavy lopi wool. You just knit it in one long piece and then you tighty wrap it over the round handles and sew it down, which will give you that curved effect. Just make sure to match your width to a suitable handle size or you won't be able to get it open and/or you'll run out of handle room!
Chrys, it's good to know you're back in biz, I'll stop by later.
So, aside from everything else- I've knitted 2 more capelets, only 4 more to go! Then I think I might try Knitty's 1930 pattern.. I wanted to do mon petit chou, but didn't bring the pattern to the lys and therefore didn't remember the cotton had to be elastic..
There's so many things that I want to knit. Namely Libby Baker's beautiful belle epoque! La Bella! One day, when I have some child free time, as it looks like it requires some concentration. Also, Hush Hush is in the wings as well.
After I get this poncho madness out of my hair, I'm going to finish up the sweatshirt (I just have to seam the sides and sleeves!) and the other nighmare rowan poncho that I'm totally over to ther point where I don't even like it enough to wear it anyways, it's too bulky.
This warm weather we've been having has shifted my knits from heavy to wanting to do lighter, airier things!
I'm trying to get into doing more of my own patterns, but my mind has been so stressed lately that I'm stuck in a "comfort knitting" phase. Not to worry, the rusty gears will start squeaking again.
I got a lovely email from a gal named Pat who keeps suggesting that I write a book! I got to thinking that's be fun! When I get the time!

I'm ALIVE!

Hello Ladies!! I am alive and well. My back is still sore and sitting at the computer really hurts still, but I made my Dr. give me a refill on my vicodin's yesterday so I should be good to go for a post or 2!
Let me start off by thanking everyone that's posted and emailed me with so many kind words!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!! YOU ALL ROCK!!! Youse guys are wicked awesome!
So yes, I have been vegging out on the bed with a variable cornucopia of exotic pain relievers! Whoo! And just to back up that statement even further, you'll all be amused to know that I just filled my daughter's bottle with COFFEE! (on accident!)
I went to a chiropractor on monday and by tuesday I could barely walk (envision me walking like an elderly orangatang with a load in his drawers, NOT PRETTY!) So after playing tag with my insurance company and my pcp, had to get re-assigned a new pcp, and enter the longest dr's visit in the history of man! I was there like 2 hours so she could poke at my back and ask me if it hurt.. Then she says that she really doesn't know a thing about back injuries!!! I was like "LADY!! Just give me the MEDS and be done with it already!!!" I have an appointment with the chiropractor today @ 5, I'm not so sure if I should go!!! What if he messes up my back royally again? Besides that, he was all huggy huggy with me! (He treats my whole family, but still, are hugs necessary? At least he didn't charge me for the visit!)
So because I couldn't bend over (and get back up without being in excruciating pain!) I haven't finished any of my pieces in waiting. BUT, you know I just couldn't lay there all still like that and watch all that day time drama! So I knit a new scarf medium_teals.jpgto match my new medicine bag, and 2, yes TWOmedium_pink_and_purple.jpg of those toddler ponchos from that book I didn't really like. However, I assumed correctly because it was worth the price just for the one pattern! It's sooo easy and knits up really quick. I finished one in a day.. Of course I took picture's which I wil put up later. I'm going to make 2 or 3 more of these to give to some lil'gals!

Miss Helena Jane is insistant on climbing up onto the desk here, and it's only a matter of time before my post gets erased, so I am going to publish and then I'll update it later today with fun stuff.
here is a really crappy pic of the mystery poncho pattern (yep, there IS a common theme running here, I'm crazy for poncho's!!! Wacky for capelets! Kookoo for shawls!!) that i'll be putting into the free pattern page one of these years!

Kirsten, here's the prototype for magie noirmedium_magie_noir_prototype.jpg

Okay and Sandra "tagged" my ass for this, so here's a buncha KEWL (haha) info on moi.

1) Total amount of music files on your computer: I have no idea! Not much though because this computer sucks and something is always wrong with it... But there are probably a few songs my husband wrote, he uses like pro tools and stuff on here sometimes.. Mega space eater!

2) The last CD you bought was: The brandy new High on Fire "blessed black wings"

3) What is the song you last listened to before reading this message? It's embarrassing to say, I do not remember.. Probably the new HOF.

4) What are your five favorite songs and why they mean the most to you

My five favorites (in no particular order): Okay, I'll just list 5 off the top of my head.. I heart music so much, it'd be impossible to narrow it down to a dinky 5!!!

1. Black Sabbath - Hole in the sky - I just think this has the most energizing riffs! I like to get ready to go out listening to sabbath.

2. Van Halen - Hot for teacher - one of my all time favorite songs, it reminds me of a bunch of us all piling into the sweaty nipples van and going down to the river one summer day, eons ago. And we all were drinking and singing every van halen song off key.

3. Nick Cave "are you the one that I've been waiting for" Makes me bawl my eyes out every single time, also it has special significance for my husband and I. Gay as it sounds, this would be "our song" Oh my god, how cliche!

4. The Smiths- Meat is murder album, reminds me of jr high days and summer

5.The Cult - LOVE reminds me of being a teenager in love,

5) What 3 people are you going to pass this baton to and why? ummm, hmmmmm. Jess for sure!, Kirsten and Keri!

Oh! my aching BACK!

Oh my god, lizbeth, this is the big one! You guys, I totally fucked up my back in a baaaaad way!
I had to go to a chiropractor! My thermal scan was all orange and red! I've been eating musle relaxers l ike candy and they are not doing a thing! I have a gay compression girdle thing on, which is not doing a thing! I have to ice it! It sucks! I can't finish any of my knitting!
All I did was pick up my daughter and KER-RACK! I think I am going to go to the dr's and get me some medicine!
More later, I'm in excruciating pain! My hip is out of whack! One hip bone juts out! Oh woe is me!
