Knitting for Boozehags

I am a 31 year old domestic dutchess who loves to rock and knit while sipping the occasional margarita. I am happily married to the guy version of me
and we have spawned a beautiful, sassy, smart and TALL daughter, Helena Jane.

I am a kick-ass cook and enjoy the culinary arts which has caught up with me so I am forever doing atkins now! (only 15 more pounds to pre-preggo weight, YEEEEEEEAHHH!)

I used to go out all the time to see heavy assed music and was darn tootin proud of my glorious thrift store wardrobe, being the all-time martini marathon reigning queen, playing bass and writing alot of tunes. (Can you hear the impending screech of MOTHERHOOD coming?)

Knitting, as I am sure with many of you, was passed on down to me through my mama, and after taking a long hiatus in my swinging 20\'s (who had time to knit when i was such a party hopping-motorcycle boot wearing-fun loving-out all night-social butterfly-bar hopper?) have been furiously creating anything and everything I can, negating financial obligations, hitting up my mom\'s stash of 80\'s yarn from her MANY unfinished projects and binging and purging on italian yarn, which I rationalize as this.... a martini is about 7 bucks, so is a skein of (this is where I lie to myself.....oops, that skein is 14 bucks?!! so I\'m at a classy bar!) yarn with tip, how many drinks would I have bought? = how many balls of yarn i will buy! I\'m a total yarnwhore~ Oh, and I have no money to show for it!
I hope to meet lotsa like-minded gals who share similar obsessions! For those about to knit, I salute you!



Okay, I give in... Helena is napping so here is 100 things you (probably don\'t) want to know about me!

1) I was a lil\' skateboardin\' punk rocker chick who grew up to be a semi-feminist metal head mother and wife. I still do not conform to the norms of society, I still have a major problem with authority. (fuck the man, man!)
2) I was adopted at age 6 months. So was my brother - he\'s Korean, he\'s never had a girlfriend or moved out of my parents house and he\'s almost 30! His only love is his computer, although when it comes to fixing mine he likes to play dumb.
3) I have not seen my true natural haircolor once since I was like 13 and dscovered henna and manic panic, along with bleach, My first hairdying session was a tragic mishap of burnt copper provided by a rather large bottle of hydrogen peroxide (yes, the stuff you wash cuts with)
4) Speaking of cuts, I was on a first name basis at the emergency room for the better half of my adolescence due to my hyperactive nature teamed with a fearlessness of all things seemed dangerous, heights were no exception.
5) I have broken all of my toes, 2 arms and torn tendons and ligaments aplenty. Plus gave myself tennis elbow and a bruised tailbone due to hot-doggin it on my snowboard. Oh, and stitches more times than I can count.
6) I dated semi-famous people. All of my boyfriends have been in bands. None that I will reveal, tacky!
7) My first instrument was the recorder. Then flute (stairway to heaven, baby!), then the guitar, now it\'s the bass. I would like to learn how to play the SAW!
8) I used to do alot, I mean ALOT of drugs... so that explains alot! Oh and I participated in many martini marathons, which is exactly what you are thinking it is!
9) I smoke American Spirit Lights and continue to tell myself that they are better for me than \"regular\" cigarettes.
10) I can drumroll my toes on the floor. And it\'s LOUD.
11) I got knocked up before I got married
12) My wedding although special, was horrendous and I cut open my hand cutting flowers for my mother-in-laws bouquet, which she left at home, she took ONE picture, the rest some chick I din\'t know took, and they are ALL blurry and/or cut off. Don\'t even get me started!
13) I have NO IDEA why I am in rhode island, I HATE IT HERE!
14) I really like accesories. I collect handbags, scarves, gloves, you name it.
15) I have never owned a cell phone
16) I have never had a credit card, I don\'t believe in banks.
